For the first time I left Death Disco and Notting Hill feeling tired and disappointed. The music was simply no good tonight. Usually they play everything I want to hear, everything from Otis Redding to Peaches but tonight I don't know what happened. The music was just not on. They still played loads of good stuff like The Strokes, Beatles, Gossip and stuff but then they mashed it up with pure shit. Although they did play I Wanna Be Your Dog with Iggy and the Stooges which made me go nuts. I've never heard that song in a club before.
Now I'm sat in the kitchen listening to music. Basically this is what's been playing:
Sanctuary - Miles Davis
I Put A Spell On You - Arthur Brown
Family Tree - TV On The Radio
Saturday Come Slow - Massive Attack
Things Behind The Sun - Nick Drake
Look At Your Game Girl - Charles Manson
People Say I'm No Good - Charles Manson
Lullaby - The Cure
Planet Caravan - Black Sabbath
Dazed And Confused - Led Zeppelin
Come And Buy - Arthur Brown
Forget Her - Jeff Buckley
It's Raining Today - Scott Walker
Needle In The Hay - Eliott Smith
Play With Fire - The Rolling Stones
Strangers - The Kinks
Walk In The Park - Beach House
Pain In My Heart - Otis Redding
A Change Is Gonna Come - Sam Cooke
Like Someone In Love - Björk
Dear Old Stockholm - Miles Davis
As Time Goes By - Dooley Wilson
Moon River - Henry Mancini
After The Rain (the whole album, give or take a few) - Erik Satie, Pascal Rogé
Love - John Lennon
Now it's early morning and I should probably get some sleep. My brother is coming tomorrow and is staying in my room with two friends and Carro has got her farewell London thing tomorrow and I need to tidy my room and wash my clothes and sheets before all that.
So I'm off to bed now and for some weird reason the last song I want to listen to is Glide, Lily Chou-Chou. I feel strange..
Sleep tight. Maybe a good morning is more appropriate. Good morning, good night, good day, choose whatever suits you.
